CORI CAAT

I am a multidisciplinary artist working out of Cleveland, Ohio. Growing up amidst the monochromatic setting of the north coast informs much of my workβ€”a lifelong urge to reinvigorate and hypersaturate the decaying urban landscape around me. Drawing further upon environmental inspiration, I regularly incorporate regional flora and fauna into my work, as well as site-specific natural materials and found objects.

Since graduating in 2015 with a degree in Studio Art from Ohio University, I have sustained a practice that involves creating across a wide variety of mediums. Though the substrates vary, my artistic goal remains steady: to process life through an ever-evolving visual language and reflect my findings back to the world. I am passionate about resuscitating existing objects and environments in an effort to challenge throwaway culture and in the spirit of a regenerative, aesthetically thought-provoking future for all.

The reanimation of our world is crucial to ecological healing. If we live in the perception that the world is dead, we will inevitably kill what is alive.
